I am an actress who has also found a love for script-writing. A few years ago, I decided to just go for it and make my own films. I am hoping to make this story into a limited series of three episodes, roughly forty-five minutes each. Moon Spell is a female driven fantasy film where the main character is middle aged. I don’t see many fantasy films about women, and if they are, they’re about very young women in a coming-of-age plot.

I wanted to see something different.
So I’m making something different.

SYNOPSIS

In the realm of Greyhaven, Rowenna, a healer with magical abilities, is desperately working on a potion that can cure people from The Malady…a sickness that suddenly appeared and kills very quickly. Rowenna’s friends, Aster and Jaelis, try to help the people as best they can, along with Bryn, Rowenna’s new apprentice.

Rowenna is confident that King Ellion, whom she has a secret relationship with, is hard at work on finding a solution as well. But when she finds out he is suddenly obsessed with finding his long lost wife, Avelyn, she’s beside herself.

Things go from bad to worse as Ellion becomes more and more out of sorts. Baylen, Captain of the Guard, and other members of the King’s council become increasingly concerned about Ellion’s strange behaviors.

Meanwhile, Rowenna believes she has found some answers in her grandmother’s grimoire. But before she can make much progress towards a solution, the cursed Ellion captures her and takes her to Darrkshire Forest.

There they encounter the Star Queen, a formidable force to be reckoned with, out for power and revenge. Rowenna must battle her while Ellion, Baylen, Aster, and Jaelis fight monsters in the forest.

Rowenna realizes that the Star Queen is responsible for The Malady, and using her knowledge of her past and what she learned in the grimoire, she finds a way to defeat the Star Queen.

The Malady disappears from the land and Ellion returns to normal now that the Star Queen is gone. All seems to be set to rights.
Or is it? Is the Star Queen truly gone?
